Dame Dawn Childs
Chief Executive Officer
Dame Dawn Childs is a recognised leader in engineering, infrastructure and sustainability. She joined Pure in 2021 to lead operations and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2023. An accomplished engineer and operator, she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2020 and appointed DBE in 2023 for her services to engineering.
Her career includes senior leadership roles as UK Change Director at National Grid, Group Engineering Director at Merlin Entertainments and Head of Engineering at Gatwick Airport. She also served more than 20 years in the Royal Air Force, where she led engineering across reconnaissance, air transport and air refuelling fleets.
Alongside her executive career, Dawn is a long-standing champion of diversity and inclusion in engineering. She’s a Trustee and Audit Chair of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Chair of the iMasons Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was the longest-serving President of the Women’s Engineering Society.
